Our Specializations in Individual Therapy

At Guided Journey Counseling, we're all about helping you grow personally and improve how you connect with the world around you. We know everyone’s journey is unique, so we offer a mix of three dynamic approaches that really resonate with those looking to broaden and deepen their relationships. Our counseling isn't just about addressing your needs; it's about matching your aspirations for growth and change, and giving you the tools and strategies you need to make the changes you really want.

Relationship-Focused

In individual therapy, the journey to healthier relationships begins with deepening your connection with Self. By fostering a deep connection with oneself, we lay the groundwork for more meaningful relationships with others. You'll form a dynamic team with your therapist, exploring your behavioral patterns and uncovering the roots of your interactions. This self-discovery leads to enhanced intimacy and trust, not only with those around you, but also with yourself.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

Our approach acknowledges that individuals can experience traumatic events without necessarily being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. With specialized training in trauma-informed care, we are equipped to address your unique challenges with the sensitivity and respect needed to facilitate growth and change.

Trauma-informed care is all about prioritizing safety and proceeding at a pace that respects your autonomy and boundaries. This approach is fundamental in our method of care, laying down the framework for achieving successful progress throughout the journey of therapy.

Psychedelic Integration and Harm Reduction Therapy:

Are you considering using psychedelics and seeking guidance on how to do so safely? Or perhaps you've already embarked on a few psychedelic journeys and are looking to maximize the benefits of those experiences.

If that's the case, our psychedelic integration and harm reduction therapy, could be just what you need.

  • Harm Reduction: This is all about minimizing any potential negative effects associated with psychedelic use. Think of it as a safety net, ensuring that your experiences are as safe as possible, both physically and psychologically.

  • Integration: Imagine taking all the profound insights and emotions from your psychedelic journey and weaving them into the fabric of your daily life. That's what integration is – it's the process of making sense of your experiences and applying the lessons learned to foster personal growth and well-being.

A Glimpse into a Counseling Session

At Guided Journey Counseling, what can you expect during a counseling appointment?

  • Each session is designed to last 50 minutes, offering a well-defined window for engaging in conversation and achieving transformations.

  • You’ll have the opportunity to openly discuss your thoughts and experiences.

  • We may take notes during sessions to keep track of key points and help you "connect-the-dots" leading to greater insights.

Our therapy sessions are built on clear communication. We use proven techniques to help you deal with your issues, and we set clear, achievable goals to track your progress. This way, you can see the real changes that come from our work together.

A Safe Space for Exploration

The therapeutic space we offer during our counseling sessions is one of safety, where you’re free to sift through past experiences and delve into both present difficulties as well as aspirations for what lies ahead, all without the worry of being judged.

This stable setting fosters healing and encourages discovery. It allows for the navigation of challenges at a manageable level within an encouraging framework, which in turn enhances self-examination and sparks interest.

Envisioning Your Path Forward

So, you've accepted where you are in life and are ready to envision your future. Setting intentions and goals at the start of first session of therapy is a crucial step in your transformation, providing a roadmap for your journey to the life you desire. In the initial sessions, we'll identify your aspirations and create a clear, attainable plan to monitor your progress.

As you actively participate in setting goals and intentions, we form a team dedicated to achieving real, sustainable lifestyle changes, in your daily life.
